After the initial rush of battles the first week, Herren-Surge seems to have fallen into a warp rift.

Week Two saw sporadic skirmishes and during the third the entire sector was blanketed in silence.  It was entirely possible that all of the planets are lost to either Necron or Tyranid forces if it were not for a contingent of Space Wolves desperately trying to stem the tide of doom.

But will that be enough?

Rules: Controlled Planets:

Each controlled planet gives you the following bonuses when defending defending it:

.....1. One free Strategic Asset per 1000 point game.

.....2. May seize the initiative on a 4+

.....3. May trade One Fast Attack slot for one Heavy Support (max 4 slots)

Additionally, each planet will have a unique bonus for the entire team. (To be updated/revealed in a bit)

The Herren-Surge Campaign is scheduled to begin March 6th, 2010 and last until May 1st. Two full months of battles should be enough to determine the winners.

Each week should have a new scenario, but by no means is the only one that you can play. In fact, I encourage you to play early and play often.

Scenario Week One: The Uncontested Planet

The Sub-Sector, Herren-Surge has been thrown into confusion. No one is in charge, and now is the time to strike.

Any Apocalypse or Planetstrike games during the first week use 'Team One' as defenders, however they gain no bonus strategems.

Objective:
Control more objective counters than your opponent. Control of any objective counter is awarded to any scoring unit within 6” of that objective counter. A unit may control more than one objective, but may not be falling back or pinned.

Setup:
Each player alternately places 3 objective counters. No objective may be within 12” of another nor may they be placed within 6” of a board edge.

At the center of the table, roll a scatter die. This determines the direction of the table sides. Roll for first place/turn.

Players then alternate placing infiltrators, 18+” from one another or 12+” if they are in terrain. All other units are in reserve, and come onto the table from the longer side (which is also the fallback direction).

Game Length:
Random

Special Rules:
Deep Strike, Dusk or Dawn, Infiltrate, Outflank, Reserves, Scouts.

Dusk or Dawn: Each side rolls 2d6, if anyone rolls doubles, that number of turns use the Night-Fight rules, using the largest result. Double 6’s mean the entire game is Nightfight.

Ending the Campaign:
This campaign is scheduled to end May 1st. The team with the most planets controlled, wins. In the event of a tie, the team in control of Herren-Surge wins. If neither tied team controls Herren-Surge, Oroblram becomes the tie breaker.

Fine. Fine. The person with the best win-lose-tie record wins best general, and we’ll make you a paper hat or something.

Teams & Allies

Your team is determined by which Army you choose:

The Good: Imperial Guard, Inquisitorial Forces, Space Marines, Eldar
The Bad: Dark Eldar, Forces of Chaos, Necrons, Orks, Tau, Tyranids

Edit: because of how the teams played out, Team 2 disappeared and was merged with Team 3.

The Mulligan:
You may change your Army (and team if applicable) once in the first three weeks. Starting the fourth week, you must stay with your chosen army until the end of the campaign.

We Are Legion:
You may choose to use Allies. One army must be your primary, and it determines which team you join. You may only choose one ally but you don’t have to use them every battle. If you choose to use your ally, you must conform to this modified Force Org Chart:

Combinations can be reasonable or absurd. You can have Tyranids with mind controlled IG or Eldar and you'd be on team 3. If you took IG with Tyranids, you'd be on Team 1, with those pesky Nids under your psychic lash or something.

Rule Number One: Have Fun.
This is not a haven for ruleslawyering, powergame loving, beardy pieces of cheese. Sure, you should play hard, fight hard, die gloriously, with your shield or on it kind of stuff, but play fair.

Rule Number Two: Anyone can play.
Pick your army, join your team, and play as often as you want. Let loose your Dogs of War!

Rule Number Three: Everything can play.
Special Characters, Imperial Armour, and Apocalypse units are allowed with few restrictions. Bring ‘em out and kick butt!

Control Points

Control Points:
This is the measure of team success. For every 500 points per side, a battle is worth 1 control point.

At the end of the game, the winning side receives the full point value and the losing side gets half, rounded up. In the event of a tie, both sides get half points. For example, in a 1500 point per side game, the winner would get 3 points for their team and the loser (or both if they tied) would get 2 points.

Weekly total Control Points are added up to determine who owns each planet. In the event of a tie, the planet remains uncontrolled.

Take One for the Team!:
All those pesky Control Points and you can’t take ‘em with you. You see, they stay on the planet. The team with the most points on each planet owns it, and becomes the defender in any relevant scenarios. Additionally, defenders of a planet gain a single Strategic Asset per each 1000 points played (Army size, not control points).
